Eastwick is an American television drama series developed for television by Maggie Friedman. The series is a television adaptation of the John Updike novel, The Witches of Eastwick. The show aired on ABC and was produced by Curly Girly in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show premiered on September 23, 2009 at 10:00PM Eastern/9:00PM Central. The show followed the lives of three strangers, Roxanne, Joanna and Kat, who meet at a wishing fountain and soon become friends. A mysterious man named Darryl Van Horne moves to Eastwick and, following an unknown plan, befriends the women and unleashes their supernatural powers. On November 9, 2009, ABC declined to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively canceling the series. The remaining ordered episodes were still slated to air, starting on November 25, 2009. In early December, ABC announced that Ugly Betty would be moving from Friday nights to Eastwick's time slot on Wednesdays starting on January 6, 2010. ABC didn't air episode 11 and 13 of the series, rather choosing to air episode 12 as though it were the series finale. The two unaired episodes were first aired in the United Kingdom on the Hallmark channel, on January 19, and February 14, respectively. On June 18, ABC announced that it will air the two remaining episodes on July 10 as part of a two hour event. On July 2, 2010, it was announced that the final two episodes have once again been bumped by ABC in order to air repeats of struggling summer shows Scoundrels and The Gates. No announcement has been made as to whether the show will be released on DVD. Next episode airs in:
