Nick's drawn a blank on renting premises and under pressure, he asks Peter if they could do a deal on a temporary lease of the old Turner's building -what was meant to be Peter and Leanne's wine bar. Following their row earlier in the week, Peter's not interested. Giving up the ghost, Nick's day goes from bad to worse when Paul Stokes arrives at the factory. Taking in the sight of the charred ruins of Underworld, Paul blasts Nick for agreeing to fulfil an order that he could never meet. Furious by Nick's deception, Paul promptly cancels the order. With that, Nick's forced to inform the factory girls that he's failed - and that Underworld is no more. Meanwhile, Tina's shaken as the police return Joe's belongings following the trial. Rifling through them is a daunting task but Tina knows that she has to face it. As Hayley deals with the laundry, she fails to discover Roy's love letter and instead bemoans the paper that was chewed up in the machine. Gutted that his romantic gesture was literally a washout, Roy plans a special meal. Elsewhere, Lewis apologises for his no-show the previous night but Audrey's upset that his date turned into an overnight stay and storms off; and Ches lies about his exams.
